Went to the zoo last week to get some shots for whatever I am going to do for my art class. This was the first time in at least a decade I had been to the Tulsa Zoo.
Yeah....It looked a little worse for wear....
That aside, it was quite nice and fun because I more or less had the whole zoo to myself. Not even staff were around. This was partly because instead of going on the nice, beautiful and warm day, I went the next day when it was cold and drizzly. Eh, no big deal, most of the zoo is indoors anyway.
I believe they did this on purpose. Have you ever been in a deserted zoo? It's kind of creepy. As in a lot creepy. And the Tulsa Zoo has all these different exhibits set up on motion sensors. What this means is that I nearly had a heart attack several times. The worst was when I was walking through the elephant museum area and set off the switch that made some old timey phone ring. Gah! Oh and then there was the time I was off in some remote corner in a swamp area and set off the sensor to make African voices start talking and singing, this was bad enough and then I walked a few steps forward and saw a rather real looking manikin.
I promptly left that area.
When I was in the Rainforest I kept having this feeling I was being watched....

ReplyDeleteSeriously though, what is that thing?
I believe it is some kind of turkey...?
ReplyDeleteThat was my guess too.
ReplyDeleteNot any kind of turkey that I've seen! There's no beard or lil wobbly thing. (yes, wobbly thing. lol)
